A very tricky fixture for Wolves this afternoon at Molineux. Bournemouth travel up from the rain soaked south coast having scored nine goals in their last five premier league games plus another three in their cup match against Newcastle. Conversely  in those six matches they’ve conceded 11 goals. In fact both Wolves and The Cherries have let in 43 premier league goals each, an omen for plenty of goals today? Let’s hope so, of course in the right net!  

With every weekend Wolves are ever increasingly off the points pace, nevertheless with one defeat in six, the Molineux faithful will be keen for a return to the competitive edge witnessed over the most part of the last 4-5 weeks. Additionally a Wolves win will draw us level with the Derby total of 2007/08, an incentive perhaps?! Sadly Wolves have manage to lose all of the last three home games against Bournemouth who beat Wolves 1-0 at Dean Court in August. This fixture also has a strange statistic of one red card every 2.2 matches over the last 11 meetings, if it happens, please not for a man in gold!

The team is out, Rodrigo Gomes, Agbadou and Tolu Arokodare all come into the starting XI and replace Tchatchoua, Arias and Krejci, the latter injured. Here it is:

Subs: Johnstone, Doherty, Moller Wolfe, Strand Larsen, Arias, Lima, Bellegarde, Tchatchoua, Abbey

Always great to see Rodrigo in the team! Rob Edwards confirmed yesterday that Strand Larsen would be in the squad despite his on-off transfer situation. For the record, Chirewa has gone to Barnsley on loan until the end of the season.

As ever, good luck to the players and Rob Edwards for this match, give the crowd something to cheer and as it’s Iraola’s 100th premier League match in charge of Bournemouth, it’d be great to send him back south with a sad face!!

Given the situation we find ourselves in there does seem little to get excited about when even a spectacular win fails to alter our predicament. I'm resigned to the fact that we will be playing in the Championship next season so the excitement I can muster (minimal) will be in anticipation of new signings and a fresh start with the possibility of making a challenge for automatic promotion.

In a match we could have won, we have lost , and just shows why we are a team right at the basement and adrift.

That’s it. 0-2. No way should we have lost but have grabbed defeat from the jaws of a draw or even victory.

A psychiatrist has arrived at the molineux way prediction league HQ looking for the felon who predicted a Wolves 3-1 win. As if this wretched team could score 3 goals against Bournemouth. The poor soul has been sectioned for his own safety with anonymity ensured, but cries of we are a game nearer safety have been heard from the van.

Had most of the play all game but Somehow manage to lose 0-2, and that just about sums this team up, a lack of quality all over the pitch.
The cherries knew how to stick it in the net with their few chances they had and our lot were clueless in front of goal again.
Having said that I didn't think we had the rub of the green today.
Just had a bad feeling when we had that early goal ruled out.
Oh well nice easy one next week against chelsea, I will be glad when the season is over.
Chan picked again I give up.

Great start, but Tolu, Hwang , and Strand Larsen just can’t put it away.
Too much expectation on Mane, very poor game from Andre.
The crowd did a great job of lifting the team but as we slide towards the abyss I am seriously beginning to wonder if these next few games (at my tender age of 76) will be the very last I see the Old Gold in the top flight. If we are down for another eighteen years, which at present looks more than possible, plenty of us will be long gone.
In any event, we better get used to lower league football with its joys and challenges.

Bournemouth haven't won an away game since August ( their only one in the prem). Hilarious a good performance from some our fans is containing such a quality side. If the bar was any lower, it'd be underground. Nothing has improved and more likely we will see league 1 before the prem again IMO

First goal was a fantastic strike but I lay the blame at Andre's door, getting caught taking 5 minutes to play a simple pass. At the other end Tolu blasts one straight at the goalkeeper from point blank range and Larsen can't even get a not-too difficult chance on target. Fair enough, he hadn't been on long but he's supposed to be worth £50m. I still don't know how Doherty has lost his place, for all he maybe past his best he's been one of our best defenders. The only players I want to see next season are Doherty, Krejci ( although he will most probably be gone ), H.Bueno and Mane. Any of the others can sling their hook.

With the chances we had today, there is no excuse that our front men failed to score. Major surgery in the squad is the minimum in the summer, though many will jump ship at considerably reduced prices. Will Strand Larsen go before the end of the window? £40M is way overpriced …. But if we get it it’ll be amazing.

Chelsea up next following their impressive second half come back this evening. I have the pleasure of a couple of seats in the North Bonk. UTW!

Looks like we might might avoid playing both Coventry and the Tescos next season. There’s twelve points we can kiss goodbye to.
Meantime here we are with the clock ticking down and most of our overpaid dross firmly in place. Memories of Kenny Jacket’s unsaleable unplayable bomb squad?
