We’ve been here before, at risk of repeating, could this be the day Wolves get the first win of the season? Three precious points and The Old Gold could elevate themselves above West Ham, and depending upon results, Forest too and close the gap on Burnley and Fulham. Ifs, buts or maybes, definitely but keeping positive in the face of form for a scenario which is possible. As has been said so many times, “It’s the hope that kills you”. COYW!!  

Burnley arrive at Molineux today after beating Leeds 2-0 last weekend which dragged them out of the bottom three putting distance between Wolves and the Hammers. A positive result for the Clarets whereby Dubravka, the keeper, got man of the match and Kyle Walker proving again he still has more than what it takes for premier league football. It will be interesting to see how the Wolves forwards try to get in behind him today, we were pretty toothless last week at Sunderland (what a campaign they are having), mind that could be said of any number of performances so far.

Hwang, Bellegarde and Strand Larsen were all declared okay in Pereira’s conference on Friday, so Vitor’s options are increased, even so it’s the teamwork, drive and ability to defend and attack as a unit that needs solving. As for the team selection – again I’m unsure of the starting 11, on paper, from the players we have, the starting line up last weekend looked strong. Whatever the choice, Wolves are at home and must do something to connect with the home fans versus a side we should feel capable of beating. Having said that, our once proud record against Burnley has bitten the dust over recent years. We used to beat them for fun!

Our winless stretch is getting bigger, eight matches this season plus the four at the end of last, nevertheless we went 10 without a win last term and still survived, but only with radical change. With a new contract for Pereira signed and sealed, will history repeat itself for the second time in a row and the manager disappears pre-Christmas or will fortunes change? More generally, it’s not great for any supporter when higher management play their seasonal footballing version of roulette. When will the direction and objectives change for Fosun? Now? January? Ever? When they’re gone?

I normally wish the side good luck, whilst luck is always needed in a match, it’s time to get on with and get stuck in and fight …. collectively that is. As Paul McCartney nearly said many years ago, “The luck you take is equal to the luck you make”.

I’m off to watch with my Ivybridge Wolves mates, so will try to at least make a comment at half time (Wi-Fi willing), please leave your thoughts and observations in the thread as per normal.

Enjoy the match, if that is possible, keeping everything crossed for three points today, we have to do it don’t we? This very much feels like a must win, a massive six pointer – and in October!! It’s mad.

Let's see which players "turn up " I got the distinct feeling most were merely going through the motions in the last match and dispaired at the tactics they were asked to adhere to. Left me thinking that VP has lost their support.
Will certainly need the crowd support to get something out of this.

Nothing less than a win will do, if not I think we are done and it's got to be the end for vitor.
We are desperate for a win if only to give everyone a lift and Raise spirits.

Is Doc injured? He’s not even included on the bench, Hoever replaces him. Never been impressed with Hoever.

Bellegarde is the other change from last week in place of Joao Gomes. I suppose a change was needed somewhere.Joao survives a total cut and on the bench.

I thought it was a 2:30 pm kick off but seems the match is effectively over - same time next week gentlemen. The good news is VP's contract is set to be extended for another 25 years and don't forget the cup. Nothing beats a good run in the cup Time to put 10 behind the ball and defend for your lives to earn a new contract for VP

A terrific but totally unexpected comeback. The resignation letter is on hold and all of a sudden we’ll now be challenging for mid table 🤩
I’ll more than take that HT scoreline but at times it’s been a bit grim. Let’s say it’s a good game for the neutral.
We’re attacking the South Bank now so hope springs eternal. Rodrigo and Bueno have been doing okay.
All to play for but can we be that bad in the second half?

Just to add that vitor should be sacked anyway for starting Hoever, im sorry he aint even championship level, if vitor can't see that it just goes to show how much he's lost the plot.

What a weird and ultimately gutting match. We are just not good enough to be in the premier league unless something incredible happens and in a game we needed to win against a side we should be beating, but we’ve failed , yet again.

We were dreadful in the first half and it was incredible we went in level. Second half Burnley didn’t have a sniff , we were by far the better side and looked like the only team that could score but in the end our players were toothless.

The late Burnley winner goal was despairing in a match I don’t think they deserved to win, but of course that is football, they took their chances and we did not. The save from Dubravka right of the death summed it all up, it was not to be for Wolves but that was an utterly superb save to deny us a point. In fact, one of the saves of the season.

I felt Bueno and Rodrigo played well but thought Bellegarde was our best player on the day.

What next for Wolves? A change of manager …. Again? Limp to January for reinforcements that few have heard of.? A desperate roll of the Fosun dice to protect their cash? Who knows any more.

A gate of under 30,000 again, restlessness in the stands, good grief I’m glad I didn’t go up today.

Unless something out of the blue happens, this isn't relegation, it's a frigging embarrassment. We'll be lucky to get to 10 points by the end of the season. I thought beforehand we needed to win the the next two matches ( Burnley and Fulham ). Obviously that won't happen now. Good free-kick from Arias which hit the post but apart from that, nothing again. I don't know if Lopez would make any difference but he must be wondering how he's not getting a game looking at that shower. Bueno and Rodrigo did well and, apart from getting caught for the winner, so did Bellegarde, which is something I would rarely say. Time should be up for Vitor in my opinion. Who comes in I have no idea.
