Wolves travel to London today to face Brentford and avoid conceding their first 'double' of the season, and the first against a promoted team for twelve years
A ridiculous penalty given away by Marcal helped Wolves lose their home game against Brentford in September, in which was surely their worst home performance so far this season and equal overall to their away performance at Crystal Palace. However things have picked up since then and Wolves go into the game encouraged by recent winning performances against Manchester United and Southampton, whereas Brentford have struggled to maintain their early season results, conceding at least three goals in their last three games and sliding into the bottom half of the table.
Wolves will be bouyed by the news that midfielder Ruben Neves and defender Ki-Jana Hoever have both completed their Covid-19 isolation and are available for selection. Fans will also surely expect Toti Gomes to continue standing in for Romain Saiss in the left side of defence after his accomplished debut last Saturday. Rumours still flourish around the future of Adama Traore - the subject of an outrageous £15m bid by Spurs this week - so it will be interesting to see whether he is included in the squad, let alone the starting Xl. We can only hope that if he is to leave, his value will have been improved after finding his scoring boots for the first time last week!!
Today's game kicks off at 3pm and will be refereed by Peter Banks, with the now retired from field duty Lee Mason on VAR.
This board will hope for a decent stream to be able to offer regular updates on the progress of the game, and board members are encouraged to join in the discussion and post their own observations.

It would appear Raul Jimenez has now been struck down by Covid or similar as he is not in today's squad. The new boy Chiquinho is on the bench alongside Adama!! A five man midfield matches our shape with Brentford's. Line-up:

If I may, a moment of personal indulgence. Today - to the day, and precise time, is the 50th anniversary since my dear Dad took me to see Wolves play for the very first time. I was very young though I still have many memories and they are very fond memories of a very, very special day. The final score, 0-0 v Liverpool was disappointing to a certain extent though for me, it was the start, the very beginning and absolutely fantastic.

Great opportunity to get some more points on the board before we hit a tough sequence of matches. Need to match the physicality that Brentford will bring if we do then our quality should see us gain the upper hand.

The game has started at quite a frenetic pace so far, Wolves are pressing out of possession. Fabio picks up the ball on left wing and works inside but his shot is well wide.

Good work by Toti to keep Toney out after getting down the right wing. Our defence are having to be on the ball for sure. Jose Sa getting involved in nonsense in the area. Bees throw in goes across our box, then we break, Lossl has to come out to clear from Nelson
Long throws, and now a corner ……. Pressure from Brentford. All a bit messy from Wolves. Kilman saves us ther after we went to sleep at the back. Another corner, Toti clears …… massive Brentford centre half collision. Horrible but gives us a bit of respite
Great turn of speed from RAN to get an important tackle in. More Bees pressure leads to a corner. Good clearance from Max after a short corner, but concedes another. Jose clears the ball upfield for Fabio but Jensen & Henry have a nasty collision which stops play - both need attention
After a lot of Brentford pressure Sa sends one long and two Brentford defenders both go for it, clash heads , and are down.
Jensen has a nasty cut across his nose bleeding +++ whilst Henry is also hurt. They were both typically watching the ball before colliding
Looking at the line-ups for your first game Ivy I would have thought a 0-0 draw was a good result for Wolves although I can appreciate the disappointment at seeing no goals in your first game. 50 years a Wolves fan is certainly worth celebrating. I’m up to 60 now!!

Amazing to think it’s 50 years. We all have our special memories. Today watching this stream reminds me of years ago in a different way …… I just want to keep banging the top of my tablet to get a better picture, just like my telly in the 70s! This stream is fuzzy at best, when it’s on!!

They used to have falcons for pigeons at Molineux. Perhaps they need a marksman for drones at Brentford. Bloody irritating. Probably helps us more than Brentford to be honest, they have been the most fluent side this half so far.

Half time after 72 minutes. A very even game although Wolves have had the better of the play after the 19 minute break for Drone-gate. Ivan Toney has had very little impact on the game which must be testament to our defence. Our 5 man midfield have gelled well and tried to support Fabio up front, but he has struggled Ed to have a real impact on the game.

Teams are out, but now the Ref has problems with his communication system and has disappeared down the tunnel!! A really poor situation when the players are ready to get going again.

We did better after those breaks in play but we seemed short of ideas up front and outnumbered too. Silva was swamped but struggled. Podence not really linking up either.
As we were a little better pre HT, I agree no changes to the side yet, but yes, Traore needs to come on at some point. His pace could well change matters

I won’t criticise VAR today because the decision earned me two points.
I think that Jose Sa epitomises the squad spirit even though he pushed the limits a little.
Great three points.
