Wolves have their first chance of the season to 'do the double' over a team tonight when they travel to Chelsea. The memorable win against his team may have been a contributory factor in the demise of recently sacked Blues boss Frank Lampard.
Perhaps Wolves could have not asked for a better time to visit Stamford Bridge, which has not historically been a particularly happy hunting ground for them. However the Chelsea players will probably be making every effort to impress their new boss Thomas Tuchel who will be at the ground and possibly in the dugout, so it is likely to be a challenging evening for Nuno Espirito Santo and his team, who will all be keen to put in a better performance than the win at non-league Chorley was perceived to be by most observers!!
Unfortunately new loan signing Willian Jose will not be eligible to play in this game, so we will wait to see whether Cutrone or Silva - or both - lead the line tonight. We can reasonably expect Pedro Neto and Adama Traore to start on the wings, and Vitinha may have staked a claim to one of the midfield starting positions after his goal in the last game. It is expected that Marcal and Daniel Podence will still be unfit to start. It's not clear why Morgan Gibbs-White did not make the last squad, so we will have to see if he is included tonight.
Tonight's game will be screened on BT Sport 1HD and will kick off at 18:00hrs. Our referee will be the relative newcomer Andrew Madley
This board will endeavour to keep everyone up to date with the progress of the game, and members are encouraged to post their own observations for the benefit of those unable to otherwise follow it.
