Wolves travel to Sheffield to take on Wednesday tonight in the second round of the Carabao Cup
Nuno will probably make wholesale changes to the team tonight and treat tonight's match as a 'squad game'. This will give members of the squad a chance to stake their claim to a place in the Manager's final 25 First Team Squad for the Premiership challenge.
It will be interesting to see if players like Danny Batth and Joe Mason get brought in from the cold for a game tonight.

I think this will be one of those matches where it will show that players haven't played together before. Gibbs-White is in the front line with Leo & Traore which is a totally new line-up for us. Leander Dendoncker and Elliot Watt make their debut at the back with the experience of Coady, Vinagre, Saiss and Doherty to support them, so it will be interesting to see how they all do.

Bonatini threads a super ball through to Gibbs-White to give him a great chance to get his first Wolves goal, but it's on his wrong foot and he scuffs it!!
Traore having no real impact against experienced defender Morgan Fox so far. Another good attack through Bonatini leads to a corner for Wolves

Nothing much to report - best opportunity for Wolves fell to Morgan Gibbs-White but otherwise we have been quite toothless. Traore has shown promise but lacked ideas at times. Dendoncker has done OK at the back.

I've only come across his name this evening Chicago! I imagine he is from the Under 23's just the same as Ben Ashley-Seal ( I wish they wouldn't all adopt double-barrelled names!!!) on the bench who has scored 4 goals of them this season, including 2 against the Albion.

Gibbs-Whits has had a good game - he now just needs to start getting some decent shots at goal and some goals. He is replaced by Helder Costa.
Quite a lengthy delay to the match after Hutchinson and Boyd collided and had suspected head injuries.

That's it folks Wolves win their first game of the season with a comprehensive 2 - 0 win at Sheffield Wednesday, with goals from Leo Bonatini and Costa from the penalty area.
Good all round performance - our defence seemed to be well in control throughout. Traore showed promise but seemingly not enough to yet warrant a start on Saturday. Gibbs-White had a good game until substituted, and Ruben Vinagre had a good 90 minutes.

I thought Wolves were garbage 1st half. Sheff made 11 changes from last saturday. We gave the ball away far too often and didn't have a single shot on target. It took until Bonatini scored before we woke up. Needed a penalty to seal it.
Can't say much about Dendonker,he hardly touched the ball. Sheff very 1 sided. Ruddy did well,was certainly being kept alert.
I'll take the win, probably deserved for the improvement in the 2nd half. I expected Sheff to field a stronger side tonight, glad they didn't.

A potential banana skin avoided. Sounds like a fairly good performance from what was, by and large, a second eleven. Good to get the first win and let's hope the second comes on Saturday.

Please feel very free to 'taking up the commentary mike' again. it was never my intention to them all - and in fact I won't be in a position to do them for the last three matches of September. I am very happy to set the pages up and then join in the comments.
Typically last pm my focus was on preparing for the match and once again forgot to do my Prediction League forecast!!
