Preston come to Molinuex today looking to knock us of the top of the pile. Preston sit in fifth spot after a good start that has seen them only lose once so far after 12 games. Wolves confidence will be sky high after last weeks brilliant performance over the Villa but will still need to be on form to get all three points today.

• Wolves went top of the Championship last weekend for the first time since being promoted as champions under Mick McCarthy in 2009.
• Nuno's side have picked up 26 points from their opening 12 Championship games - their best start in this division since 2001-02, when they narrowly missed out on promotion.
• Since losing at Derby on 15 August, Preston have gone unbeaten in nine games, although they have drawn three of the last four.
• Diogo Jota has scored six goals in his last seven league matches for Wolves, including three in his last four at Molineux.

Awful first half. No where near as going as we was last week. Still 1-0 up so not all bad. The referee is a joke. Should have booked at least four for Preston.

It was a test alright. For the first 25 minutes at least, Preston were the better team and it seemed as though they had done their homework on Jota. We needed a good save from Ruddy to keep the score level. The referee was a joke and seemed reluctant to produce any cards in the first half, and I usually defend referees when I can. I thought we had weathered the storm by the time we went 1-0 up.
We began the second half better but still not on our game and despite going 3-0 ahead I still had a feeling it wasn't won yet.
On the bright side, Preston had only conceded 8 goals before this and the 2 goals they scored were sloppy on our part, which obviously isn't good but it wasn't as if they undid us and shouldn't take much putting right.
I suppose you're not going to get your own way in every game and at least it's another win.

Yes I was there and I have to agree with Andy. Preston boss claims it was a soft penalty and I have to agree but I don't agree with his complaint about us impeding the keeper prior to the first goal. He also states they have video evidence that a wolves player elbows Ben Pearson straight in the face. I have not seen it so can't say.

Still he did not moan at some of the dirty tactics his players was using through out the game.

We switched off after we went 3-0 up and let Preston back in the game.not a vintage performance today but I ain't complaining it's still 3 points and that's what matters. Yet another poor ref again,the standard is pathetic. I wouldn't risk our star players against city Tuesday,I don't think nuno will he knows the league is priority. Upwards and onwards it's great to be enjoying the football again!

It's was 3-0 when I went out - couldn't believe they'd gone to 3-2 and they were still playing after 98 minutes! Just watched on Channel 5 - bet there were a few squeaky bums in the crowd. Still, it's three points and will warn them against complacency.

What they did not show on channel five was the last ditch defending we was doing, Coady and Batth both throwing themselves infront of the ball to stop the shots. Bet they both have a few bruises this morning.

Tonight, City will not be stupid enough to field a completely weakened team, but some of their rusty 'benchers' may be no better than our 'gotta show I can be better' young thrusters.

I dont think anyone is lacerating chicagowolf ... there are 2 main aspects to any game.. the result and the performance... the result was excellent in that Preston are one of the form teams in the League and look like top 6 material ...regarding the performance, to be winning 3-0 and then having to throw our bodies on the line to hang on in the last few minutes, is something that our coaching staff needs to look at IMO.

There are people getting a bit carried away at the moment, this league can put manners on any team....
As regards the game tonight.. i think citys "rusty benchers" would be a match for most premiership teams!
Lets not get carried away please!
