The Express and Star have been listing a new player that we are said to be interested in almost every day for the past few weeks. Sometimes they go back to an old rumour in order to show they do there bit for the 'Save The Planet' and recycle. So far the list containes 22 players since we set up the Transfer Talk page on here back in early May. I may have missed a few as I have not checked it out every single day since but I am sure we are not far off.
Off the List which containes the Iraqi Pirlo and Icelandic Beckham, we have managed to sign three of them. Another two have gone to other clubs while two more are looking for clubs having been released. Most of the rest are said to be a replacement for the impending departure of Sako and we will not make a move until he has left. A wise move I am sure.
Here is the full list:
Jack Thomas Nadir Ciftc Derik Osede - Went To Bolton Wanderers Abdoul Camara Jed Wallace - We signed from Pompey sammy ameobi joe mason Peter Whittingham Dwight Gayle Michal Zyro Yaser Kasim (The Iraqi Pirlo) Johann Gudmundsson (The Icelandic Beckham) Mark Bunn (Out Of Contract) Leon Britton Sylvain Deslandes - We signed as one for the future Calum Harriott Jamie Paterson Chris Wood - Went to Leeds United Samuele Longo Rodolph Austin (Out Of Contract) Connor Coady - We signed from Huddersfield. Adam Le Fondre
Do you think anymore on that list will arrive, I am not sure. If any I think it will be Ameobi, however will we be able to see off the challenge of the mighty Cardiff City who are said to be interested now.
As we have said before , if any club is interested in a transfer target they aint coming. The only reason we signed this coady character was due to him arriving from the smallest club in the championship on wages even we could better. Had Leeds, Cardiff etc come in for the player he wouldn't be here it's as simple as that. I don't bother with transfer rumours for any club especially wolves.. I expect maybe one more player no one else wants and a back up keeper before the window slams shut. The only positive is dozy on a new contract and hopefully keeping hold of Afobe which would be laughable if he went having only been here a few months anyway
ive just got back off holiday from kos, i was hoping for a bit of good news regarding the transfer front, but nothing changes, i should have known better. if anything it gets worse, like you say angry were being linked with everybody under the sun but if any other club is interested their not coming here. good news about dicko, but now it looks like mcdonald's on his way, still no sako replacement and who the f#ck is coady. another year same old story
Nadir Ciftc could now be on his way to Celtic after a fee was agreed. Wigan had a 1.5 mill bid offer accepted but Nadir turned down the chance for talks.
Lets face it. Yet again the club are on a cost cutting exercise.
We have saved money on Doyle , Sako and other players going.
We bring in a 2 division player in and a future star.
Cost peanuts.
We bring in a player for 2 million.
That's it.
Transfer window shut.
So what do we have
1 x goalkeeper injury prone.missed games last year.
1 x left back - injury prone.missed games last year.
2 x right back - good players..
2 x centre half s - average , very prone to errors.
Midfield - lots of average players.with no consistency.
2 x centre forwards - 1 x injury prone with tight calfs and thighs. Missed games.
Where's the depth?
Seriously , every pundit in the land last year pointed out that our lack of depth in the squad would be an issue.
The strategy of this board is breath taking in its ability to consistently be the best at being incompetent.
