Wolves will be hoping to take advantage of Manchester United's surprising exit from the Champions League last night. In Wolves previous six meetings with Manchester United, they have twice come out on top, and have only once been outclassed - the infamous 10 changes match.

Correct me if Ive read them wrong but the stats seem to indicate Rooneys greater ranging role inn ManU's game plan. The 20% more passes in open play - one indicator. His tally of goals from 'set piece' come from his taking free kicks - Fletcher none!

Here comes a big bet. The differences in stats are not huge. Put Fletch in ManU's usual team and the difference would be suprisingly similar given the all round better quality of players.

Look out for a hostile bid in the close season . . . or perhaps this coming Jan! Don't want it to happen - but an attractive £20m bid would fund a substantial strengthening shop around.
