After having lapped the Ricardo Tormo circuit at Valencia some 90 times yesterday, Robert Doornbos today completed his two-day test in the RB2-01, the ‘older’ version of the 2006 RBR championship challenger.

In a series of short runs, Robert drove 30 laps today in which he and the team mainly concentrated on set-up and differential changes.

ROBERT DOORNBOS: “Today I only had to test ‘part time’ as David took over the controls on from the afternoon. It’s good to see that Christian was again able to gain a two seconds advantage in the revised car and that we set competitive laptimes compared with the other teams which are present here. David laptimes confirm that the both of us really got the max out of the RB2-01. The team is super motivated with the results from the new car, so I can’t wait to get my turn next Tuesday at Barcelona. By that moment we’ll also have my new seat fixed, so I hope I can get rid of all bruises I have now!”

Christian Klien continued working in the new "Bahrain Spec" RB2 which features enhanced cooling and some significant aerodynamic updates. He worked on setting up the new chassis as well as working on control systems and tyre evaluations for Bahrain & Malaysia.

DC took over from Doornbos in the old RB2 for the afternoon session. Technical Director Mark Smith commented "This gives David a good reference for comparison when he drives when he drives the RB2-02 tomorrow. Apart from a couple of stoppages with Christian's car this has been another productive day"

Coulthard will be the only Red Bull driver in action on Thursday as the RB2-01 is being shipped back to Milton Keynes to be fitted with the new bodywork updates ahead of next weeks Barcelona test.
