Red Bull Racing and sister team Toro Rosso kicked off the Turkish Grand prix weekend with one of their now traditional "Chilled Thursday" parties. Not ones to resist nationality sterotyping, the Energy Station was transformed into a Kebab House for the evening!
On arrival at the Istanbul circuit, the first job was to erect the engineers "treehouse" and of course the Energy Station. Once the respective crews had completed these tasks, the team proper could move in, tinker about with the cars for a bit, before the serious business of the Chilled Thursday Party got underway.........

Being Turkey, Red Bull decided they needed a Turkish theme - so why not serve Doner Kebab!

Red Bull Racing have kindly shared their special recipe with us!
DONER KEBAB RECIPE
1 Elephant’s foot, 50g black pepper, 2 kilos elephant fat - ground, 1 egg, 150g salt, 1 litre onion juice, 1 cup olive oil.
First, kill your elephant. Remove one of its feet (store rest of elephant in freezer.) Remove any bits of skin and bone from the meat. Place on a rotating skewer in a shop window or mobile caravan. Cut into serving-size pieces. Pound with a meat tenderizer or the edge of a heavy customer until 1/8 cm thick. Prepare a marinade of onion juice, olive oil, salt and pepper and soak meat in the marinade 12-24 hours. Soak elephant fat in hot water. Remove pieces of meat from the marinade. Spread over each piece of meat the elephant fat and ground elephant mixed with egg. Thread pieces of meat on a long skewer, starting with larger pieces. Trim the chunk of meat on the skewer and add trimmings to the end of the skewer. The chunk of meat is broiled in the Doner Kebab broiler, made especially for the purpose.
Certainly seemed to go down well in the paddock! - mind you sitting in an enclosed F1 cockpit for a few hours with a gut full of Kebab and chilli sauce is not my idea of fun!
