A late update has hit this site tonight from message board contributor Kevertje. The Dutch newspaper 'De Telegraaf' published a report that said that Jos Verstappen had been offered a test role with the Ferrari team, which he turned down. On RTL tonight, Jos has confirmed that the offer was made.
Kevertje's post on the AllAboutArrows message board reads:
"On RTL television Jos Verstappen confirmed he turned down an offer made by Schumacher and Todt to become Ferrari's test driver. Jos said, 'I told them it was not possible because of the (OrangeArrows) contract. I now wished I would have accepted it, then I would have been within a top team.' "
Kevertje also revealed that Verstappen indicated that he was very confident of securing a drive in Formula 1 this year, and that currently his search is centering on a test and development role.
Thanks to Kevertje for posting this update.
