Just in the last few days this site has been in contact with Trust, who were announced as a sponsor late in the 2001 season. The reason for the enquiry was to see if they knew anything about the Verstappen situation, and their reply indicated that they were waiting too - they are waiting no more ... The actual text of Trust's reply read, "When OrangeArrows would decide to confirm his (Jos Verstappen's) driver position in the team, then it would indeed increase our sponsor possibilities. This goes not alone for Trust, of course." Meaning that Trust were waiting for a decision from OrangeArrows before commiting any funds to the team.

As a result of todays announcment concerning the signing of Heinz-Harald Frentzen, it is of no surprise to learn that Trust have severed their links with the team. A short message has been posted on verstappen.nl which tells us that "Trust has decided to pull the plug on the Arrows sponsorship."

Like Verstappen and his management, Trust have shown a shocked reaction to the manner in which this news was delivered. "Trust states that the way they received the Arrows news was like a slap in the face," verstappen.nl goes on to tell us.

The good news is that, "Trust has announced they will keep supporting Jos Verstappen." Perhaps the only good news Verstappen will get today ?
