Now the season has well and truly ended for everyone connected to Bath Rugby it's time to sit back and reflect on what happened in 2005/06. Whilst we may be disappointed with the team's eventual position in the Premiership we can look back fondly at our Cup exploits.
The final(sic) results in both domestic and European Cups may be disappointing but who can say they didn't have great times at both Cardiff and San Sebastian? Rugby supporting isn't just about watching your team win or lose, it's also about building friendships with a whole host of folk you otherwise wouldn't have met. On this front I'm sure so many of us have received winners' medals.
The photos posted in the Rogues Gallery from the European Cup semi-final, the ERE London night out, Matt Perry's Curry Night and of course the wonderful Moz Memorial Match clearly demonstrate the camaraderie created just by following Bath Rugby.
Bath Rugby has been through some lean times over recent years and the patience of supporters (not to mention the players) has been tested to the limit recently over the Brian Ashton affair. Stuart Barnes will be pleased that his beloved Arsenal have just re-signed their superstar Thierry Henry after months of doubt, I just hope we get a similar result with Ashton.
Despite our lack of success on the field we have a marvellous pack of forwards, most of whom would grace any team in the Premiership, and so it is very frustrating that they are not winning the silverware their efforts so deserve. They all have different skills and attributes and we probably all have a favourite player.
Here is the result of your vote for player of the season.
