Please change Bayliss and McConnochie nationality to Scottish
Quote:Was released in the summer, signed for Taunton; then returned (I thought temporarily, but it looks like I got that wrong) at the beginning of the season, to cover TdT's injury, and Beno's suspensionjayeatman
Kieren Verden: Turned out last week, on your list, but not on the club website?
Actually plays for Taunton. [www.facebook.com]

see Offy sw:
"In January 2023, McConnochie was included in the Scotland squad for the 2023 Six Nations Championship, becoming eligible under a World Rugby rule that allows players to switch national teams after a three-year period of inactivity with their previous team."

Seem to take a huge interest in our wage bill paul.
Quote:Fair enough, that's typically key to when these things are announced.PaulHerox
What I had stupidly forgotten was that you ofc have a guaranteed home SemiFinal. So there's still time for the club to announce which players are leaving and them to have a nice send off after that game.

We have signed 4 players (frost/van de linde/ arundell/carreras).

I find the whole Salary Cap fascinating.
The management and complexity of it is bewildering and the planning involved is incredible.
I'm as interested in how Falcons manage on their £3.5m as Bath do on their £8m+ (including all allowances and marquee)
You've listed mainly peripheral squad players and even writing that they're Internationals doesn't change that you know they're low salary players.
Those players alone are unlikely to cut it which is why it's interesting to me which higher value players will go.

Certainly some interesting takes on here.
Carreras and Gallagher on the same money.
Your club Captain and one of your consistently best players will be taking a salary of £250K? for a number of seasons.

Jacques du Plessis a journeyman SA lock was on good money.
Arundell's salary could be very reasonable if it's with a nod and a wink from England.
I've no idea what Bath spend overall but you're doing very well if you got much of a contingency with your current squad.
Interesting to read about your loan arrangement with Wuss for next season too. I'm guessing they probably won't get first dibs on Lawrence and Hill but nice to have the connection.
Best value in your entire operation is definitely your S&C.
There's always elements of fortune in player management and injuries but they've done an exceptional job the past two years.

I'm afraid that the point you are trying to make there is unclear, Paul. Please explain.

To keep those next generation players like Sela, Tuipulotu, Bennett, Jeanes, Green, Hennessy, Emens, Donoghue, & Offiah they have to see a route to the first team or they will leave.
Quote:Yep, I'll definitely be following Worcester more closely next season.BathMatt53
I think that there is a while before some of these guys will be insisting on first team rugby - most are 18-21 years old. The Worcester loan tie up would help with this.

A slightly different angle on this thread but is there any comparative info on how other clubs have strengthened their squads for next season?
Or does that require a whole new thread?

WT will have a bunker with lots of post its on the wall waiting to be turned into a spreadsheet and then shoehorned into the SportsNetwork table format.

Those 'players out' columns are an awful lot longer than the 'players in' columns.

In 2 years we will have lost in the back three:
- GHW (acad?)
- Goss (acad, (did he even play?)
- Gallagher
- Owen (did he even play?)
- Mcconochie
- Grace (did he even play?)
Replacing them with
- Arundell
- Carreras
Hookers the same have been thinned down
Leaving
- Doughty (left in 22/23 season)
- Faiva (think he replaced Doughty?)
- Annett
With only Frost Joining (and Kepu Tuipulotu)
Lots expecting that some big names will leave. Namely Cokansiga, but that won’t be happening.
What I believe the leavers list will be
- Stewart
- Annett
- Faiva
-Schreuder
- M Graham
- L Graham
- I Davies
Can’t see too much movement anywhere else. Maybe lose one of Cordwell or Verden but seems silly to when they have had such success in prem cup and coming into the prop prime. Cordwell especially at Looshead.

Stewart resigned a year ago....didn't he?

I’ve always found the comments about Salary Cap funny. No one in their right mind can actually think a club would even try go a pound over with what’s happened to Sarries.
The Carreras signing is in light of losing a fair bit of depth there.

With this tie up with Worcester I wonder if some of those will join their squad. Bath being the feeder club for Warriors!
Quote:shipwrecked
Actually it’s not really properly fixed actually don’t have a player called Mackenzie but we do have Mackenzie Graham!
A very good 22 year old who will undoubtably will do well at Worcester?

I don't think he will - may do well for Coventry though!!

Interesting that Sam Maunder also confirmed from Exeter - they have a good team (despite Matt Kvesic and James Tyas joining Worcs).

2025/26 Hookers: Dunn, Frost, Tuipulotu, Spandler, Pearce

Quote:. Multiple semi finals surely? :-)Francis Allen
Trust that he's not rushed back, if our centre strength boistered by the inspired signing of Chris Harris keeps fit, stick with them. Olly could be a timely addition as we head towards another semi final.
