England A outside half Andy Goode has signed a two year deal with Saracens and is very optomistic for the future of the Men in Black. Sarries CEO Peter Deakin says that they have found the right man after a lenghty search for a new stand-off.

"We've been looking for a solution to our high turnover at No.10 and he was the ideal choice, he also knows how to win. We're delighted to welcome Andy into the fold"

New coach Wayne Shelford says that he is looking forward to working with Goode in pre-season and reckons that the former Leicester man has a good range of skills and that he'll bring a lot to the team.

Goode himself is pleased to be at the club and said "I know the club are ambitious and I want to help them get back to where they want to and should really be, near the top, well at the top. I know it's an exciting place to be, everything about the whole club I think is tremendous, both on and off the field, all the way down to the matchday with all the razzmatazz which I'm really looking forward to being a part of".

Looking forward, Goode thinks that the signings of Christian Califano and Craig Quinnell will bolster the Sarries pack and that the back line, including superstars Tim Horan and Thomas Castaignede will bring out the best in him. Also, he is very pleased to be the man who'll have the responsibility of kicking the goals, something which he says he is "desparate to do, week-in, week-out."

The futures of incumbent outside halves Luke Smith and Jannie DeBeer will, according to Peter Deakin, be settled in the next few days.
