Philippe Sella, the world's most capped player and alumnus of Saracens and Agen, has expressed his disappointment with the two sides after their Sella Cup match ended early follwing several violent incidents that prompted Rod Kafer to withdraw the Sarries players. Speaking in French newspaper Sud Ouest, the former France centre said "One realises that there are no more friendly games and that they are warm-ups" but he added "This incident is detremental to the image and the discipline of both clubs"

Sella, unlike some Agen supporters who have laid the blame firmly at the door of the visiting English side, cited referee Gillet's inability to quell the situation by not using his cards and putting a stop to the foul play as a contributory factor in the game's unfortunate outcome.

"The two teams would have undoubtedly liked to see some stronger officiating" he said. "But it is difficult to accept all those low blows during the game"

Finally, Sella admitted that the game, intended to be an annual fixture might not take place again after Sunday night's events.

"It is under threat, but I hope that the two clubs can be reconciled" he concluded.

Agen were presented with the trophy after they were ahead 18-11 on 55 minutes, the time that Rod Kafer and Saracens walked off the Stade Armandie pitch.
