END OF SEASON POLLS: THE RESULTS

By The Saracens
August 26 2024

With the new season ever closer, here are the results of the Saracens 2023/4 Season’s Poll. Thanks to everyone who voted: it's just a bit of fun and also attracted quite a lot of interest from mesengers to the Board

Let’s start with your Player of the Season; There really was only 1 winner with almost 90% of the votes, your Player of the season was:

JUAN-MARTIN GONZALEZ

There were (distant) equal seconds in Maro Itoje & Andy Chrisite

Young Player of the Season was equally dominant with again over 90% of the votes going to

THEO DAN

Olly Hartley came 2nd and Samson Adejimi was 3rd

Which of our leavers will we miss most next season?

Not surprisingly most of the votes went to

OWEN FARRELL

Alex Lewington came in 2nd with Sean Maitland 3r

Which new signing will make the biggest impact? I think there was a degree of desperation in voting for the winner (basically he has to or we’re stuffed. So the winner is

FERGUS BURKE

In 2nd place Phil Brantingham and in 3rd Fraser Balmain

On to performances: The best performance of last season was:

SARACENS 52 HARLEQUINS 7 on 23rd March at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium

Next best was that (must) win over Bristol Bears at Ashton Gate in May and in 3rd place the other half of the season’s double over Quins, the somewhat unexpected 10-38 victory at the Stoop in November

Worst Sarries Performance of the season was very hotly contested. In fact the votes for first place were equal so Mod’s privilege: the casting vote is mine and therefore the worst performance (in a season where there were rather a lot) was

SARACENS 10 SALE SHARKS 20 – a result that gave Sale a semi-final place and sent Sarries to Northampton

2nd worst was that Debacle in Bordeaux where Sarries lost 55-14

3rd (by just 1 vote) was that awful performance at Sandy Park for the season’s opener

And finally on to officialdom and the best and worst referees (thankfully the same guy didn’t win both categories!)

The Best Ref (and we had him no less than 6 times last season was the peerless

LUKE PEARCE

2nd was Christophe Ridley (thought to be rising fast) and 3rd Matt Carley

When it came to Worst Referee there was no contest, the winner, by a 50:22 was

KARL DICKSON

With Hamish Smails and Ian Tempest equally distant in 2nd

So that’s it for another season. Next week sees the team go to Bedford for the first of 2 friendlies and a new season will be underway.

Thanks for the results and putting the polls together.
Also well done for the Mods vote on worst game. 100% agree. The game, old Sarries would have crushed and used as a stepping stone to the final.

Thanks for the polls.

Either way his impact will be big, just depends if it is a good or bad one 😂 hopefully the former!

Louis Rees-Zammit might be available - he'd score 20+ tries a season at Sarries.

No thanks. If we've got the money there are much better options out there. Saints have three or four of them alone!
