Saracens utility back Thomas Castaignede has voiced his displeasure at being left out of his side's game against Gloucester and, after only one start in the last six games, hints that he could soon be leaving the Men in Black. Wednesday's Daily Mail quotes the mercurial Frenchman "It seems I am not the right choice for Wayne Shelford any more. It's not good for me. I have to find a solution rapidly or I may have to leave."

Castaignede could be in the strange position of being a regular at international level for France and a cast-off at Saracens.

Sarries owner Nigel Wray admitted that the two had "had a chat" after the Gloucester match and said "'I'd be surprised if Thomas wasn't angry about not playing. I think it's important he is, but we all say things in the heat of the moment and I am sure it will be sorted out."

The omens, if you're a Sarries supporter, don't look good after Wayne Shelford criticised the Frenchman in public last week. Perhaps this could be the beginning of the end of Castaignede's love affair with the club that stood by him during his eighteen-month injury nightmare between Novermber 2000 and early 2002.
