The Supporters Do The Players' Job.

So the team didn’t get any pots this season. Well us gardening Tiger supporters haven’t let that get us down. In true Blue Peter fashion we can make our own.

Here is how I show my support during the Summer.

The colours are easy. There are lots of red and white flowered plants with green leaves. Take your choice. It is the pots which are a little tricky. In shade use red and white fuschsias ( I hope I spellt that correctly) or bizzy lizzies. In Sun use red and white geraniums or swank like me and use white Argyranthemums and red Abutilon. In Winter I will plant up with red and white pansies.

I found these green glazed pots at half price.

With a little bit of masking tape ( for curves) and some enamel radiator paint I was able to apply the red and white stripes of the new look shirts. The enamel paint should be weather proof on the glaze.

The tiger head was easy. I enlarged on the photocopier at work a tiger head from one of the “You are the best supporters in the world now give us your money,” type circulars you get from time to time. Then I stuck it on card and cut it out into a stencil which I drew round with a fine liner. I then painted in the relevant bits white.

The fact that the pots came as a set in 3 sizes posed a problem. The big one is obviously called affectionately “Big Tiger” or BT for short. The little one is tiny tiger but the medium one hasn’t got a name yet.
