Nobody could say that September was a good month for Tigers, three consecutive away defeats, the Tigers seem to have lost their killer instinct. However, the month has seen two convincing home victories and Leicester have scored 12 tries altogether. But who has stood out performance-wise this month? Here are the nominations for player of the month.

Harry Ellis

This month Harry has shown that he is a versatile player that can adjust quickly to a new position and play well. He has scored 2 tries and adds some speed and wantage to the backline. He has been tested under the high ball more often than at scrum half and has coped very well.(Den1se)

Harry has been called upon to play in the unfamiliar position of winger, as well as switching within matches to the favoured scrum half spot. In spite of this complication he has continued to look sharp and has got on the score sheet in difficult circumstances.(Tiger_Rock)

Rod Kafer

Since his return Rod has looked in great form. Certainly the backs functioned a lot better against Newcastle and he has also been on the scorecard twice - averaging one try a game can't be bad.(Den1se)

Tim Stimpson

During the month Tim became the first player to break the 1000 premiership points barrier, he equalled the individual match points scoring record with 32 points against Newcastle, and produced good displays within the context of poor team performances and in a winning team against Newcastle he produced one of the best displays of kicking and open field play ever seen at Welford Rd.(Tiger_Rock)

Tim Stimpson has been one of Tigers best, most consistent and most loyal performers for many years now. Even during the shaky start to this season he has been one of the few to look good and has even been linked with a return to the England side - not that Woodward will take any notice. During the Sale game he kicked a penalty that meant he was the first player to pass 1,000 points in the Premiership and against Newcastle he produced a near perfect performance that included a drop goal from close to 50m. By the end he had equalled the record points score by an individual in a game. Stimpson is now one of the cornerstones of the Tigers team and has to be my man of the month.(Simon)

Franck Tournaire

The best is still to come from Big Franck, but in his first month he has added a degree of solidity to the scrum, produced useful work around the pitch and is already well on his way to becoming a Welford Rd cult figure.(Tiger_Rock)

Martin Corry

Again Martin has shown his versatility in the pack, moving positions because of injury with ease. The Welford Rd games have seen a return to form after, by his own high standards, some tired performances last year following on from the Lions Tour. The best may be yet to come, but a free from injury Martin Corry will produce plenty of dividends for the Tigers.(Tiger_Rock)

Neil Back

Perhaps more noticeable by his absence, when selected and fit to play this seasons testimonial recipient has continued to forge the vital link between forwards and backs, win the ball and do everything one of the best 7's around should do.(Tiger_Rock)

Lewis Moody

A player that has suffered injury, but when playing has made a tangible difference to the Tigers with his sheer disregard for his own safety, as well as his not inconsiderable back row skills.(Tiger_Rock)

As seven players were nominated this month and there is only room for 6 in the poll unfortunately Lewis due to only playing one and a half games is dropped from the final poll - I'm sure he will make up for it when he returns fit which hopefully will be very soon.
