On Sunday 27th December Yorkshire Carnegie entertains Rotherham Titans in a tasty Championship clash at Headingley Carnegie stadium. Both sides have won six and lost five at the halfway point in the fixture list. Those are the facts. Everything else is, as always , pure conjecture.......
The visitors are my favourite club in the PRSY. Over the years they have been our closest rivals as well as being our biggest feeder club. Fourie, Lund, Blackett, Burrows and Hooper all played for Roth before we enlightened them. The Titans also manage to punch well above their financial weight and have a knack of finding coaches who can do the business in this tough league. This season the Titans' form has, like ours, been hit and miss. They had good wins at home to LW and Donny plus wins at Pirates and Nottingham on the road. The downside has included home defeats by us and Jersey. The fact that we are eight points infront of Rotherham is purely down to our newfound ability to get bonus points.
Until the break for the B&I our form had plummeted. Have two wins against the Scottish Exiles stopped the rot? We will know on Sunday. Brush is still dabbling with his line-ups. For me this is to the detriment of the team's performances. However I appreciate that we are still in the preliminary competition and that our target is to qualify for the play-offs, nothing more, nothing less. If, however, we do not start putting together consistent performances in the next six games then we might not achieve that target.
I was interested to see that KS is aleady looking better at 10 - with HL at 12 outside him. Let us hope that this continues. I also hope that whoever gets selected in each position is currently the "form" player in that shirt. Competition for places has never been tougher - even Chris Jones is not guaranteed a start.
Rotherham fans will be hoping to see their team pull off yet another famous win at HC. It is the only time that they look happy imho. My money is on a home win after a close encounter - YC by five points.
See you there!

Isn't it great to have a dilemma on the team for a change? Whatever side turns up, it'd better win.
