The weather has been unseasonably warm of late. The Costa del Yorkshire has been basking in the warm spring sunshine. Right on queue the weather is changing for the visit of our friends from Cornwall. Tomorrow the forecast for LS6 is wet and windy. However we can make it hot for the Pirates....
Last weekend a rejigged Exiles team were blown away by a confident Carnegie performance. Had the Exiles put out their strongest team they would still have succumbed to the pace, slick handling and incisive finishing of Buzz's team. That performance went some way to assure the faithful that Brush was sorting things out. Gone were the unforced errors. Back came the slick offloads. Whilst we are still giving away lots of penalties there is going to be room for improvement.
Lots of players who, until now, had looked uncomfortable in the team or off the pace, seemed to start playing to their potential. On paper we have won 9 games, as have the Pirates. They have scored 23 points more than us and are just one place below us in the league. The Pirates also took the notable scalp of Bristol back in February so tomorrow's fixture could be a close game. Had I not been at Headingley last Sunday I might be a bit worried that the sons of Kernow will inflict a twelfth defeat of the season on us.
Fortunately I was there. The lads played well, scoring 6 tries and only conceding one. I am sure that they will want to finish the season with a win to help erase the memories of a string of awful performances at Headingley. Our departees will want to go out on a high and those who are staying will want to impress the boss. We also have the bonus of the return of Mike Myerscough.
So I have a feeling that we will make it hot for the Pirates. The forwards were rampant last week. I expect more of the same. I feel a win for us by 15 points is a distinct possibility. Let's do it!

Last weeks performance was, I think, driven by a desire to impress the head coach ahead of next season. This week it shouldn't be any different. I therefore predict another good win for the mighty white rose.
Nice preview WW and nice picture, although any scaffolders who have to stay behind to hold their structure in place are obviously a bit iffy I reckon!

Couldn't agree more!
Let's hope for a better result than the Rhinos got last night, as they were blown away by Warrington 29 - 10.
I thought I had better go along to make sure they didn't cut-up the pitch or get Sir Kev injured, but disappointed to see Rhino's lose. 17430 there.
