New coach?

Well that was pre-season that was. The leaderless lads went down at Kingsholme by a cricket score. Not surprising but if we had a coach he would have seen some good signs and especially the promise shown by some of the new signings. So the next big event is our trip to Cornwall....err?

Our new coach has been appointed. Of that I am sure. He is not one of the internal candidates or he would be in place by now. The new coach is still contracted elsewhere. Now this is OK to a certain extent. An outstanding candidate is worth waiting for. However Geech said that he was impressed with the standard of the applicants which implies that there was more than one good 'un.

Availability would have been one of the factors which I would have taken into the mix, as well as any visa issues that might stop us getting our man. I just hope that Fred Karno has not been involved in the selection process as it is rumoured that he has been seen leaving Headingley rubbing his hands with glee!

I very reliable source at the club told me this morning that the name of the new coach would be announced "by the end of this week". We'll wait and see!!!
