Another shock in store?

We welcome Moseley to Headingley next weekend in the last league match of February. As we have already amassed 10 points this month the players and fans are confident that another win is on the cards - and that is just what we thought a few years ago at Twickenham when Moseley forgot to read the script and beat us in the cup final. As always we should not take anything for granted......
Moseley currently sit in ninth place in The Championship with a game in hand over the club above them in the league. They have won 5 games, drawn 1 and lost 8. Their most notable scalp was a win at Goldington Road earlier in the season. Moseley have developed a habit of beating the teams around them in the table. However we have already beaten them at Billesley Common in the first half of the fixture list.
I remember seeing them at the double header at the start of the campaign. The player who stood out was Matt Williams who is a seriously fast winger. On the other wing they have Scott Armstrong who we remember as "Scud" when he played for us a few years ago.
Last weekend we played in the mud in West London. Moseley had their game called off so will be well rested for the visit to Headingley. If the weather is kind to us, and it has been so far this season, we could well be treated to a feast of running rugby from both sides.
As the business end of the season approaches we are starting to see the return of some of our long term injured. Burrows appears to have taken up where he left off and Tussac made a welcome return at Ealing. The club are not taking any chances with potential injuries. David Sisi has come in on loan with the rumour of a couple more loanees on their way. At the sharp end of the season you need both quality and quantity so I for one am happy to see the ranks swelling with some decent imports as we are more likely to be able to play people in their best position, which. for the forwards is essential.
The back division, having looked a bit threadbare earlier in the season, has benefitted from the signing of Clarke and Vickerman. Players have done well out of position although I think Holmes adds a bit of class wherever he plays. When McColl returns J-Lo will have the best kind of selection headache. Hughes, a Moseley old boy, will want to have a good game on Sunday.
I have given up trying to second guess the team selection. Everyone who has turned out this season has given their all for the shirt. With Tuesday's announcement this will probably be the last time that Moseley play Leeds Carnegie. Next season we will be the "Yorkshire" Carnegie, a branding move unlikely to be universally popular. It will be a brave new world whatever league we are playing in. In the meantime 5 points on Sunday would go some way to securing a play-off place and would make February a "maxed-out" month.
