Leeds Supporters are Proud to Announce....

Free-scoring fullback

In line with tradition the supporters of Leeds Carnegie, through Tykesrugby.co.uk sponsor a player every season. Last season, due to their huge generosity, we were able to sponsor two players, Scott Mathie and Christian Lewis-Pratt. Next season our primary player for sponsorship will be.....

Stevie McColl! Steve, a twenty-two year old Scot signed for Leeds in the close-season from near neighbours and rivals Doncaster Knights. Formerly with Edinburgh Steve is a fullback with a huge boot, although he did play in the centre  before the soon to be Knights coach, Lyn Howells  persuaded him to take the fifteen shirt.

Last season Steve scored thirteen tries at a rate of around one every two games and with a bit of luck he will beat that in the coming campaign. His other attributes include a willingness to go for the gap and to run the ball out of defence. We look forward, with some anticipation, to seeing him with ball in hand at Headingley Carnegie.

In a few days a  "Donate Now" button will appear at the bottom of this piece and elsewhere on the messageboard for those of you who wish to contribute to our sponsorship of the "Flying Scotsman"

The average donation last year was £20 although all were gratefully received. Approx 60 people contributed last season which was why we were able to support a second player.

I appreciate that times are hard at the moment so give what you can afford without breaking the bank. Andy will (hopefully) setting up the link soon so we can get cracking!

Glad we got McColl, now we need to campaign for him to be the main kicker! Good choice tho, c'mon Stevie.

Can we also have a whip round to get him a decent hair cut? That is a comb-over of the worst kind waiting to happen. (Sm124)

Don't show the Leeds sales team this! They may just think it is a suitable alternative to the Lemonhead beanie worn by fans and finish up selling this in the Club shop, rather than a cheap, easy to get, flourescent yellow beanie!

Not long seen the man coming out the gym with another player. I could not tell you who the other player was as I was staring at his hair.

OMG - it's got to be sorted.(Sm145)

Worst of all, he copped me staring. (Sm59)
