After six games without a win not many expected Quins to overcome Bristol in Cardiff. It wasn't the most dynamic performance but there was plenty of effort and character as we won 14-18.

The question now is - have we turned the corner? We may find out this week when Sale come visiting in the Champions Cup.

Alex Dombrandt led the way as a more pragmatic Quins dogged it out in Wales. He scored in the first half with  Fitz Harding crossing for the Bears.

But it was Quins who had the better of the second half as Bristol became increasingly frustrated and a pen from Jarrod Evans anda try from  Rodrigo Isgro  gained an advantage which looked very slim when Steven Luatua put the Bears within one point.

However Jamie Benson kicked a late penalty to make Quins' supporters breathe a little easier.

A relieved Jason Gilmore told the media: "We're not out of the woods. There's still a lot of work to do at this club to be where back where we need to be. For us to compete against Sale next week, it'll be a physical battle, we needed a good performance today.""
