Woeful Start to 2026

The ease with which top of the table Saints cruised through the Quins defence was embarassing. Defeat is one thing - conceding 10 tries in a 66-21 defeat is off the scale.

Coach Jason Gilmour summed it up for the media: "If you keep copping those defeats, it's not going to be sustainable. That's pretty obvious.

"It's not just going to turn around overnight and we've got to be a clear as a club over what we need to do to make sure we're winning big games more consistently."

In fact, Quins have only won twice in the league while losing ythe other 7.  That's despite a host of internationals with the likes of Alex Dombrandt trying their hearts out and deserving better. He and Cassius Cleaves scored f the Quins tries.

It's back to European action next weekend withh the arrival of Cape Town Stormers. Hopefull,y an opportunity to start putting things right.
