A squad of 23 flew out of London this afternoon to America for the ‘promotional’ double-header against Man City in St Louis and New York. Money-spinner you mean?! Waste of time and this after a season lasting sixty-nine games… 69!!!! The owner and the board seriously couldn’t organise a p**s-up in a brewery.
‘Captain, Leader,Legend, One England Captain’ JT didn’t travel but Jamal Blackman, Nathan Ake, Anders Christensen and Ruben Loftus-Cheek joined the 19 other senior players.
Full squad list at the bottom:
The game yesterday was a little bit to open for me especially during the period where Arsenal had scored at St James’ and before Torres volleyed home Moses’ knockdown.
The way the game was going and the way Everton were playing, it was on the cards that Everton would have scored a second and perhaps gone on to win in David Moyes’ last game.

Fortunately that scenario didn’t happen. Torres volley consolidated Chelsea’s third place and the season ended on a high, four days after winning the much maligned Europa League.
The Fat One completed the job he was brought in to do and threw a trophy into the bargain.
There were times when it looked like he was ‘looking after No.1’ especially in the Cups, but once he ‘failed’ dismally in the FA Cup semi-final, a blessing in disguise perhaps, he had to rearrange his focus and priorities.
As Chelsea according to the experts, had the toughest run-in, The Fat One navigated six wins and two draws from the last eight league games including away wins at Fulham, Man Utd and Villa.
So on to America. The first game of the double-header is in St Louis on Thursday evening, k.o. 7.30pm local time (01.30am Friday, UK time) then the teams move on to New York to play on Saturday 25th May, k.o. 5.30pm local time (10.30pm, UK time.)
Both games are being shown LIVE on Chelsea TV for FREE on channel 421 for UK and Ireland residents only.
