Ex Gas man moves on....
Jordan Rossiter, a 27-year-old English midfielder, has joined National League side Oldham Athletic on loan from Shrewsbury Town for the remainder of the 2024–2025 season.
Rossiter began his career in Liverpool's youth academy, making his senior debut for the club in 2014. He later played for Rangers, Bury, Fleetwood Town, and Bristol Rovers before signing a one-year deal with Shrewsbury Town in July 2024.
Jordan Rossiter joined Bristol Rovers in June 2022 on a two-year deal from Fleetwood Town, reuniting with manager Joey Barton. He debuted on July 30, 2022, he became a key midfielder for Rovers but suffered a meniscus injury in December 2022, sidelining him for several months. A subsequent surgery in February 2023 extended his absence.
After missing the remainder of the 2022–23 season and much of the 2023–24 season, Rossiter returned to action in April 2024. He was named on the bench in a 2–0 defeat to Bolton Wanderers on April 6, 2024, and made his first appearance in over a year on April 13, 2024, playing 51 minutes in a 3–1 victory over Cheltenham Town. He revealed that his prolonged absence was due to a rare infection following routine knee surgery.
In May 2024, Bristol Rovers offered Rossiter a new contract, but he departed the club on July 1, 2024, after failing to reach an agreement. During his tenure, he made 25 appearances in all competitions.
During his time at Shrewsbury, Rossiter made 15 league appearances. His move to Oldham Athletic aims to provide him with regular playing time and bolster Oldham's midfield as they strive for promotion in the National League.
