Three Saints make the World Grade
By Anne O'Rack May 1 2002
Three Northampton Saints have been named in the latest Gordons Gin sponsored world rankings of rugby players but there is one very high profile name that appears to be missing in action.
Ben Cohen, whose international game has come on a storm this season is rightly named as the top English winger and rated fourth in the world.
Possible Saints target Aurelien Rougerie is in eigth.

Olivier Brouzet, soon off to pastures new, is ranked the seventh best lock in the world but suprisingly has three Englishman named above him.

Steve Thompson retains his usual second place in the world rankings being held off top spot by Raphael Ibanez of France. Next year Wally, next year.

The suprise is that Tom Smith is not named in the list of props. He has been at the top of the rankings most of the season but despite being picked in just about everyones Six
Nations XV it seem that he does not have the staying power required for the Gordons Gin judges.

Seems like somebody may have been at the sponsors product..........

Well done to Ben, Ollie and Wally.
