Although he plays for Argentina he holds an Italian passport, which means that he is counted as a EU player so Quins currently only have one non-EU player in the squad – Ace Tiatia – meaning we will always be able to pick on merit rather than leaving players our because of the ‘two foreigners’ rule.
He played for the Pumas in the 2001 Pan American Tournament and also received a late call up to the squad for the one off test against New Zealand when the first choice prop, González Bonorino, damaged the cruciate ligaments in his right knee. 2001 was also a good year for Pablo when he was awarded the La Plata Premios al Mérito Deportivo for rugby.
Pablo is hoping that his move to Quins will allow him to improve his game so he can become a regular fixture in the Argentine squad.
