Quins made the most of the opportunity to hold an additional training session, developing back line moves and focussing on positional work with the forwards. The afternoon culminated in essential carbo-loading and team bonding in a nearby hostelry.
Next week, the Quins Ladies travel down to Hove for their second league fixture. In last season’s friendly, Hove challenged Quins well with a strong pack; a challenge which Quins will face again next Sunday.
Injury Update
Newcomer Elley Mytton broke her fibula and two ankle bones in her debut against Chesham. She has had the bones pinned and is now in plaster until mid-October.
Club Captain, Mel Antao, has been plagued by knee ligament problems for the past few seasons and will be having surgery in October.
Michelle Kendell’s broken arm is now out of plaster and having regular physiotherapy. Michelle is back in training and expected to be match-fit within the next three weeks.
Second-row, Claire Melvin, is receiving regular physio for her tendonitis and should be back in training once fully rested.
