Harlequins Wanderers vs. Thamesians 2nd XV

By H Carr
October 28 2003

The game quite simply became a rout, as The Harlequin Wanderers (the Amateur 2ndXV side) were superior in every aspect of the game. The two halves were mirror images with eight tries scored by the Quins and one reply for the home team in each half. The foundation for this victory was simple rugby played at its simple best…strong running, slick handling and support at the breakdown. Oh, and not forgetting a front row, the combined weight of which must have come close to totaling 50 stone!
