Poster Profile 20: Steeevo

Board Name: Steeevo
Age: 26
Location: London
Occupation: Ship operator
Why did you choose your board name?: It’s what I’m known as. Some nameless / faceless person nicked my original name – Steevo – during the transfer from TMQ to CAW in an attempt to annoy me (some people can be such muppets, can’t they?) so I added an extra ‘e’ and carried on posting.
How long have you been supporting Quins?: Erm…….. (quick count on fingers) 18 years
How did you start supporting Quins?: My Dad was a supporter (and original Member in the “Proposed/Seconded” era) after he was introduced by a friend of his. I went along once and the rest, as they say, is history.
If you play(ed) rugby what position did/do you play?: I was a hooker at school. By God, that sounds dodgy.
Best ever Quins game: Quins v Newcastle at Headingly in the ES semi-final
Favourite off pitch Quins experience: The whole post-match beers/pub/restaurant thing
What is the most ridiculous rugby related thing you have done?: Support the Coastal Sharks.
Favourite Ground (after The Stoop): When it’s full Twickenham is rather nice. Tamar is a unique ground, although I wouldn’t recommend it in the depths of winter, and the thought of playing on top of one of the Royal Navy’s largest ammunition magazines always makes you fleet of foot!
Favourite Quins Player: Mel Deane.
Favourite Non-Quins Player: Brian O’ Driscoll
Most likely to say?: “It’d be rude not to”
Least likely to say?: “No thanks, I’m on a diet”
What are your non-rugby pastimes?: Running, mountain biking, working (weeeeeeeeeeeell, it passes the time, doesn’t it).
Favourite Film(s): Star Wars (naturally…) The Great Escape, Bullit, Scent of a Woman
Favourite TV Programme(s): 24
Favourite Book(s): The works of Iain Banks (including his “M” offerings), Christopher Brookmyre, Richard Harris, and Voltaire
Favourite Music: Indie / Rock / Big Beat dance / Jazz (from the Silver Era)
Favourite Food(s): Anything that’s spicy and not offal-based.
Favourite Drinks(s): Real ale, red wine, vodka, meths, Dr. Pepper. I’ll drink anything, me.
Favourite Quotation(s): “It takes a big man to admit when he’s wrong. I am not a big man.”
Favourite Place(s) to visit: New York for the bustle, Toronto for the chilled urban style, Kyoto for the chi recharge, Puget Sound for the peace, Toulouse for the café society and Munich for the beer ‘n’ pig. But then, there’s no place like home.
When you were young what did you want Jim to Fix for you?: I can’t remember. But I’m sure I thought it was dead cool.
Tell us THREE things about yourself that we wouldn't know.
BUT, TWO of these should be true,
but ONE should be totally made up:
1. As a callow youth I once hurled verbal abuse at Prince Charles.
2. Elizabeth Hurley gave me a card wishing me good luck for my university finals.
3. I recently came second in an XC mountain bike race.
