| Board Name: | BatQuin |
| Age: | 26 and several months |
| Location: | Down the A316 from the Stoop/At my desk in the City |
| Occupation: | Trainee millionairess |
| Why did you choose your board name?: | After running around the living room wearing my stylish new poncho last August, while singing ‘NA NA NA NA NA NA NA NA BatQuin’. Kiwi Di told everyone and it stuck. |
| How long have you been supporting Quins?: | I think it’s about 18 months but feels more like 18 centuries. |
| How did you start supporting Quins?: | By accident. Went to see England vs Romania on 17/11/01 and went to the Stoop for a drink. Got invited to see the Quins v Sale game on 1 Dec, went along and enjoyed it, met up with a load of DGs on 1/3/02 at the 6N Dinner and the rest, as they say, is history. I’ve just about forgiven Kiwi Di for taking me to that England match . . . . . |
| If you play(ed) rugby what position did/do you play?: | N/A |
| Best ever Quins game: | London Irish (A) on 16/3/03 |
| Favourite off pitch Quins experience: | Er . . . um . . . I guess you want one I can tell you about? Oh, I don’t know, there are too many, but one of the funniest was the one involving Binky, a camera and the lovely Mr Vos :o) |
| What is the most ridiculous rugby related thing you have done?: | We really could be here all day, but I think it might have to be the 20 minute conversation I had with Scotty in the Patch on 16/3/02 after the Newcastle game, when I thought he was a Steward. No-one (inc. Scotty) thought it appropriate to tell me who he REALLY was! |
| Favourite Ground (after The Stoop): | HQ |
| Favourite Quins Player: | All of them of course! |
| Favourite Non-Quins Player: | Ben Cohen (like you had to ask!) |
| Most likely to say?: | ‘Andre, I love you’, ‘Ben, I love you’, ‘So, Scotty, what’s it like being a steward? Have you ever met Ben Cohen?’. |
| Least likely to say?: | 'Andre you're so ugly', I really hope LI finish top of the ZP', 'Ben who?', 'No, I'd definitely not want Roy Winters on my table at the Players’ Dinner’, ‘Prof is so quiet while watching a match - he never yells at the referee’, 'Innuendo's favourite team? Oh, it has to be London (yes, London) Wasps', ‘Grammar is SO unimportant’ |
| What are your non-rugby pastimes?: | You want me to remember when I used to have a life? Right, well, I like watching footie on the TV, I like listening to music, going dancing, wandering round museums, going to the cinema, being at the beach, going on holiday, drinking . . . (nope that’s rugby-related isn’t it?) |
| Favourite Film(s): | Grease, Shakespeare in Love, Passport to Pimlico, Calamity Jane, Shrek, Breakfast at Tiffany’s . . . just a selection! |
| Favourite TV Programme(s): | Friends, Frasier, ER, Question of Sport |
| Favourite Book(s): | Wuthering Heights |
| Favourite Music: | Anything so long as it’s not rap |
| Favourite Food(s): | Most things – ice cream, really good cheese, chips from the paper at the seaside. |
| Favourite Drinks(s): | Lanson Black Label champers, my sister’s punch . . . most things! |
| Favourite Quotation(s): | Oscar Wilde’s one about work being the curse of the drinking classes, good old Will S and ‘the course of true love never did run smooth’ and lots of others! |
| Favourite Place(s) to visit: | The beach (anywhere), New York, HQ when England are playing |
| When you were young what did you want Jim to Fix for you?: | I wanted to go ice-skating with Robin Cousins |
| Tell us THREE things about yourself that we wouldn't know. BUT, TWO of these should be true, but ONE should be totally made up: |
1. I used to be musical at school and played all sorts of instruments from the drums to the violin, and I sang in the choir. 2. I was cross-country champion at my senior school for 3 years running (HA – good pun!) 3. I enjoy deciphering documents written in sixteenth century handwriting and if I won the lottery would go back to studying Tudor history. |
