kwin reveals his innermost thoughts, desires and secrets in the CAW poll.....

Board Name:

kwin

Age:

35-44  That's all I'm saying

Location:

Twickenham

Occupation:

Something indescribable in the City

Why did you choose your board name?:

I just liked the distinctive, visual pun. (Later I realised it's not a so distinctive when people say it out loud!)

How long have you been supporting Quins?:

The first game I went to was in 1995

How did you start supporting Quins?:

I moved to Twickenham and found myself living next door to the Stoop (although I always had been a Rugby fan)

If you play(ed) rugby what position did/do you play?:

For a long time a Prop But eventually when  I realised that props thrive on physical intimidation, I became a, hooker instead.
I wasn't very good (2nd XV for school and college) but keen

Best ever Quins game:

The European Shield Semi-Final, and Final, but also, oddly, home to Bath in 2001/2  - this was the sell out game when Clive Woodward said we were in danger of feeling like a real rugby club, and in many ways it was the start of the Evans  era.

Favourite off pitch Quins experience:

Melody Fakers   "I am the dancing kwin..."

What is the most ridiculous rugby related thing you have done?:

Playing a rare game at tight head, I opportunistically bound down firmly over the top of the opposing hooker's hand, successfully preventing him from 'tapping' for the ball; consequently we won one against the head and I felt very smug indeed.
The reason it was  ridiculous was the way I was completely unprepared for what would happen immediately after the scrum ended J

Favourite Ground (after The Stoop):

Madjeski (because the Craic is great - and because our record there is so good)

Favourite Quins Player:

Now that Gollings is gone, I am badly in need of a new one..

Favourite Non-Quins Player:

Dallaglio

Most likely to say?:

Zinzan must go!

Least likely to say?:

Shall we go and watch some Rugby League over the summer?

What are your non-rugby pastimes?:

Daytime: Cycling, Petanque, Olive Oil, Surfing, Trolling
Nightime: maintaining that damn website..

Film(s):

When Harry Met Sally

TV Programme(s):

ER, The Simpsons

Book(s):

No all-time favourite, but just finished and really enjoyed: Pattern Recognition by William Gibson (which btw contains some great insight into on-line communities)

Music:

This week I have been mostly listening to:
Eddi Reader , Dixie Chicks, and  Busted

Food(s):

Lamb in all its forms

Drinks(s):

Old Speckled Hen , Croze-Hermitage

Quotation(s):

"Oh Lisa, go ahead and play the blues if it'll make you happy"
"Son, when you participate in sporting events, it's not whether you win or lose: it's how drunk you get" .Homer Simpson

"When you look back on your life, you always have more regret for the things you didn't do, than for the things you did."

Place(s) to visit:

France Drakensberg Mountains

When you were young what did you want Jim to Fix for you?:

To force  Vision On  to return my pictures.

Tell us THREE things about yourself that we wouldn't know. BUT TWO of these should be true, but ONE should be totally made up:

1.    A photo of me was shown on Crimewatch above the caption 'do you know this man?'

2.    While living in South Africa I learned a smallish amount of basic, conversational Zulu.

3.     Quarter-finalist in the 1995 Evening Standard Open Petanque Tournament
