Simon Keogh joins Harlequins from the Leinster team that played some scintillating rugby in the Celtic League in the 2001/2 season and he bagged himself a few tries along the way.

Simon Keogh joined the Leinster squad in 2000 at the same time as other Quins new boy Andy Dunne. He was selected for his winger’s speed but also because he can play at scrum half. This season Quins seem to have signed a number of players who can play in more than one position but Keogh is the first scrum half/wing I have ever heard of.

When it was announced that three Leinster players were coming to Quins a number of their fans were disappointed and they wanted to keep their home grown players.

John Kingston’s time spent coaching Galwegians and his knowledge of the Irish game has allowed us to sign some exciting new talent, let’s hope they settle into the team quickly and play to their full potential behind a powerful scrum.
