Harlequins were quick to dominate after kicking off, using their strong rucking game to keep secure possession. Plymouth were soon forced back into their 22 by a relentless Quins attack. Hooker, Susie Seymour-Smith, seized the opportunity to open the scoring when Plymouth came apart in a ruck, by charging through the middle to touch the ball down.

Encouraged by the score, Quins ran the ball straight back at the home team, with excellent support play keeping the ball alive. It was fly-half, Dani Knight, who finally ran through the Plymouth defence to score their second try.

Harlequins work was far from over, with a more organised Plymouth attack in the second half forcing Quins into a more defensive game. Strong scrummaging by the Quins pack repeatedly turned over Plymouth ball, but Quins just couldn't seem to fight their way out of their own half. Plymouth continued their attack, but thanks to the organised Harlequin defence and several try-saving tackles by the backs, Plymouth were to cross the line only once.

The final few minutes saw Harlequins return to their earlier form, controlling possession and working their way back up the pitch. Quins had secured their win, but had certainly made it hard work for themselves.
Captain, Sam Marshall, commented,
"We played really well in the tight and began to run some good lines in attack. We let our concentration lapse in the second half and gave them the chance to use their pace and score. We need to work on keeping our focus for the full eighty minutes. I would particularly like to say well done to today's try-scorers, and to forwards Helen Cushion and Laura Coy for their hard work in defence."
