Quins pushed forward from Cliftons kick-off, but soon found themselves on the back-foot after conceding two penalties in quick succession. In the closely-matched first half, both teams shared possession equally, but were unable to get across the line.
The second half saw the Harlequin Ladies begin to organise their attack more effectively, putting Clifton under increasing pressure. When Number 8, Leah Carey, made a break down the right wing, it was Winger Saskia Brazier-Kobus, running in close support, who went over the line to open the scoring for Quins. With Harlequin now dominating in the scrums and winning many against the head, Clifton found it more and more difficult to counter-attack.

Late in the second half, Quins once again forced their way deep into Clifton territory. Clifton attempted to kick themselves out of the danger zone, but it was to no avail. Harlequins second try came after Fly-Half, Dani Knight, took the ball on from a scrum and scattered the Cifton defence. It was then down to a powerful run by Alex Burbidge at Full-Back, to carry the ball over the line. With Centre, Jo Morgan making the conversion, Quins had secured their 0 12 victory.
