One of our 2005 summer series is a supporters 'If you could', the series continues with the original 'Grumpy Old Man'- Baz of London Irish. Throughout the off season we plan to learn a little bit more about many of our 'Usual Suspects'

Every time Janet gets an all clear in her yearly breast cancer scan.

Leaving a big multi national company to go on my own. No more mind numbing meetings.
Enjoy a 'champagne moment' again in sport which one would it be and why?

Irish winning the Powergen. Their first major trophy in over 100 years and I was there.
Not be asked one question for the rest of your life what would it be? What would you like for dinner? Don’t know why I just hate being asked.
Be a celebrity for the day who would you be?

Michael Parkinson because of all the people he meets and his obvious enjoyment of it.
Be a sports star for the day who would it be? Eddie Irvine. Pots of money, women and boy’s toys.
Have dinner with 4 people from the past or present who would they be? Churchill, Edmund Hillary, His Holiness The Dalai Lama and Michael Parkinson.
Witness one event from history what would it be?

The Battle of Waterloo.
Go back in time and give advice to a 13 year old Barry Buckley what would it be? Try to be patient and tolerant. You don’t know it all.
Win any sporting event in the world what would it be?

Middleweight boxing championship of the world.
Try out a new sport what would it be? Round the world yacht racing.
Have one extravagance what would it be? A Holland and Holland shotgun.
Only ever eat one meal again what would it be? Janet’s lamb hotpot and mushy peas. No starter or dessert would be needed.
Live anywhere else in the world where would it be? Spain
Support any other Rugby Club which would it be and why? West Hartlepool. I used to play for them and they are a great set of people who have had a tough time of it in recent years.
Tell us a claim to fame what would it be?

Played for the Fairies 2003 team at Henley.
See into the future what do you expect to be doing in 10 years time?

Sitting in the sun with tapas and a nice glass of Rioja.
Only ever drink one drink again what would it be?

An ice cold highly spicy Bloody Mary.
Do any other job other than your current one what would it be?

A trekking guide in the Himalayas.
Change one thing about yourself what would it be?

Be less of a grumpy old man.
Buy one player from past or present to play in London Irish colours who would it be? Fergus Slattery, a truly great player.
