Martini have announced that they have signed a 3 year on car sponsorship contract with the Scuderia Ferrari Marlboro team. This will be the return to Formula 1 for the historic motorsport sponsor and also some solid information in the Ferrari sponsorship rumours. This is what Martini Racing's Director, Robert Furniss-Roe had to say about the new deal: "We are extremely excited about our new partnership with the Scuderia Ferrari F1 team. We have a long and proud heritage in motorsports and this latest chapter promises to be rewarding and exciting for our consumers and us. Ferrari has produced some of the most evocative and famous racing cars ever built, and there is no other team in Formula One that better reflects the personality and character of Martini. The global appeal of Formula One also provides us with a highly visible platform to engage and communicate with consumers around the world." The beverage company has sponsored many prestigious racing teams such as Lotus' Formula 1 team and Ford's World Rally Championship team. It is not clear at the moment whether this means an early departure by Vodafone from sponsoring Ferrari but it would seem a logical move by the telecommunications giant. This would also explain why both Ferrari and McLaren, who will be title sponsored by Vodafone have run in blank and unfinished liveries respectively. |
