Formula 1 Sells Out

Formula 1 shall go the way of NASCAR as it will for the first time in 55 years, sign a series' title sponsor. Coca-Cola will now pay an incredbile $156 million a year for the right to be that sponsor. This means that, as Bernie Ecclestone has announced, Formula 1 will now be named the Coca-Cola FIA Formula 1 World Championship.

This is a sad day for Formula 1 as it will be the final step in the commercialization of Grand Prix auto racing. Previously, Formula 1's name was the only thing free of sponsorship, but now nothing will be sparred.
