Well, possibly not Ferrari, but Rossi will
be in Formula 1 for the 2007 season. It has been clear for quite some
time that the 6-Time MotoGP World Champion, wants to race in Formula 1
and it now seems that he is finally ready. Rossi's boss at his Yamaha
MotoGP team, Davide Brivio, announced that Rossi has signed a contract
extension for 2006 but after that he will be in Formula 1.
"We have already agreed on a one-year contract and we know that from 2007 he will be in Formula One." While a move to Ferrari is definitely possible for Rossi, as he has tested for the Scuderia in the past, nothing is certain as of yet. One must also ask the question of whether Rossi is good enough to be in Formula 1? As we all know, bikes and cars are completely different and while there has been racers who have done very well on both two and four wheels, it is a huge transition. One racer in particular, John Surtees, won the Formula 1 World Championship and also on several different occasions, took top honors in motorcycling as well. While it is likely that Rossi will be fast, will he be fast enough for Ferrari and Formula 1? |
