Hartlepool sign Kevin Kyle on loan

Hartlepool have signed Coventry's fomer Sunderland striker Kevin Kyle on a one-month loan, a move which will prompt fans to wonder whether the team's whole outlook will change to accommodate him. Kyle has nine Scotland caps, and is regarded as a target man who plays a totally different game to James Brown and Joel Porter, Pools' two main strikers so far this season.
If Kyle is to play, Pools might be expected to swing the ball into the area at a height to see what damage he can do rather than play the ball to feet as they tend to do with Brown and Porter.
Unless, of course, Danny Wlson plans to change Pools' style altogether and shove Kyle up front, with Porter and Brown playing just behind him, hoping to pick up the pieces after he's battered the opposing central defenders.
Another obvious question to ask is why Pools need another striker when goalscoring is the least of their problems this season, especially at home. After all, thbey already have a target man who has already spent most of the season on the bench - Richard Barker.
Kyle is so far out of favour at Coventry that he hasn't featured in a senior game this season, and the deal has only gone through after City agreed to pay part of his wages, estimated at £8,000 a week.Coventry paid £600,000 to Sunderland for him two years ago.
Kyle says he would love a permanent move - but chances are he would have to take a hefty drop in pay for that to happen.

Good luck with him! I hope he does OK for you, but the goals are still in the same place on the pitch as he frequently missed for us!
