Collins (left) & Humph
Wilson explains that he feels Collins has the right leadership qualities to be team captain, and it's sdifficult to argue with that theory.
It's also difficult to argue with the manager when he says that Humphreys is a great ambassador for the club and excels at the PR side of the job, making him ideal as club captain.
So few fans will find any reason to disagree with the captaincy announcement. they are probably too busy wondering why a very quiet summer in the tranfer market has gone even quieter as the season gets closer and closer.
With strikers Joel Porter and James Brown in good form in pre-season, there is some good news for Pools if the pair can keep it up. But the squad still seems fairly thin, and it's to be hoped there arenl;t too many inuury problems as the season progresses.
This is the team we would like to see start againt Colchester on Saturday (but not the one we expect Danny to name):
Lee-Barrett; Sweeney, Collins, Clark, Humphreys; Liddle, Jones, Boland, Monkhouse; Porter, Brown. Subs (from): Budtz, Barker, Nelson, Robson, Foley, McCunnie, Power.
