Gartland Trained With Town
By Aston
November 6 2008
Republic of Ireland ‘B' international Graham Gartland spent time training with Town a few days training with Town recently.
The 25-year-old defender has been released by Irish League Champions Drogheda FC after the club went into examinership (Irish administration), although he is a free agent Town would be unable to play him until the January transfer window.

Town manager Jim Magilton confirmed his trial, saying: "Graham is someone we have been aware of for a while, he has impressed a lot of people in Ireland and Charlie Woods watched him play at the back for Ireland B alongside Alex Bruce.

"When the unfortunate situation came up with Drogheda, we asked Graham over for a trial.

"He spent a few days with us last week and did very well. He showed a great attitude. He had a look at us, we had a look at him but that's as far as it's gone at the moment."
