Feyenoord Set For Fab’s Game
By Aston
September 3 2008
Town defender Fabian Wilnis has revealed Town are set to play Feyenoord in his testimonial game at Portman Road next year.
Wilnis, who now plays for Grays Athletic, spent 9 years at Town but was granted a testimonial match which will be against Feyenoord next summer. The current plan is a 90 minute match between the current Town and Feyenoord sides followed by a 45 minute game between a Town XI and Feyenoord XI for Wilnis.

Wilnis: "The date has still to be finalised but we are almost there, Jim is keen for Feyenoord to come and they are happy to play a full game against Ipswich as part of their own pre-season build up.

"I've already spoken to Kieron Dyer about playing in the second game and I'll be approaching lads like Matt Holland, Titus Bramble and others that I have played alongside in my time at Ipswich.

"I'm also hoping that players like Robin Van Persie, Pierre Van Hooijdonk, Dirk Kuyt, George Boateng and Salomon Kalou will be able to play for Feyenoord."
