Adam Johnson Linked
By Aston
August 30 2008
Town have reportedly asked Middlesbrough manager Gareth Southgate about the possibility of taking Adam Johnson on-loan.
The 20-year-old left sided winger is unhappy playing for Boro's reserve side with Stuart Downing occupying the left side roll at the Riverside stadium and is willing to drop down a division to secure first team football with 11 Championship sides reportedly keen on him.

Southgate is currently unwilling to let Johnson leave the Riverside as he fears he could lose Stuart Downing to a bigger club before the transfer window closes on Monday night. Johnson made his debut for Boro when he was just 17 in the UEFA Cup against Sporting Lisbon and has since gone on to make nearly 50 appearances for Boro.

Re: Adam Johnson Linked
As a matter of interest Adam Johnson has repeateadly said he will not go out on loan to a championside club and there is no way Downing will be sold certainly not to Liverpool. Middlesbrough Chairman Steve Gibson will not conduct any buisness with Livepool because of the the poor relationship the club has with Rick Parry the Liverpool chief executive. This man cheated Middlesbrough out of three points when at the FA and then acted illeagaly when signing Zega. The FA fined Liverpool a paltry sum but Middlebrough Chairman Steve Gibson. took civil court action and receive compensation reputeded to be £3M
