Jim: New Coach Soon
By Aston July 3 2008
Town manager Jim Magilton says Town will be making an announcement shortly about Town's next goalkeeping coach.
Town have been looking to replace Andy Rhodes who left his role as goalkeeping coach by mutual consent when the season finished, a number of names have been linked with the roll with interviews being held over the past few weeks and Jim now feels an announcement about Town's next goalkeeping coach won't be far away.

Jim: "We will be making an announcement very soon.

"I've spoken to four or five candidates and there are some very good people interested in taking up the position.

"We are at the stage now where we are discussing the final details and then we can move on from there. I'm hoping it will all be tied up over the weekend or at the start of next week."

The new goalkeeping coach will be followed by a new goalkeeper, widely reported to be former Town ‘keeper Richard Wright although Jim says there are other targets, adding: "It's been well documented that we would be interested in Richard if he is available but we have also enquired about other 'keepers, it can be a slow process, bringing in players. It can be similar to moving house in that all the links in the chain have to be in place before things happen but we are moving in the right direction now.

"Patience is not something that comes easily to me but the most important factor is that we get the right player at this Football Club."
