Williams To Robins?
By Aston
June 25 2008
Town midfielder Gavin Williams is reportedly on the verge of joining Bristol City for a fee more then the £300,000 paid for the Welshman.
Williams made just 11 starts for Town last season and was transfer listed towards the end of the campaign and with just 1 year left on his contract it looked inevitable that he would be leaving Portman Road and today that news has been all but confirmed.

Town manager Jim Magilton: "There are still bits and pieces to be done but it looks as though Gavin will be on his way, I think it was inevitable that Gavin needed to move on to further his career. When he was good, he was very good but we never saw enough of that here and I think you could say it was unfulfilled potential.

"Injuries hampered his career at Ipswich but if he can get a run of games going, then maybe someone will see the best of him.

"He's a lively lad, you need characters around the place and we wish him all the best for the future."
